GREATER KANSAS CITY AREA FACTBOOK OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS |
The Table of Contents Menu for the Greater Kansas City Area Community Assessment Factbook appears on the left side of this web page.
The Factbook is comprised of four major analytic components:
Health Assessment
Resource Assessment
Value Assessment
Disease Category Analysis
In addition, general information about the Factbook, as well as the appendices can be selected from this menu.
Each component includes a number of detailed analyses. To view the analyses within a particular component, select the appropriate title (e.g., Health Assessment).
Each analysis contains a narrative and a detailed list of exhibits by exhibit name, as well as a listing of individual exhibits by number. A pdf file containing all exhibits in the analysis also can be accessed from this menu. To view the contents of a particular analysis, select the appropriate title (e.g., Demographic Characteristics).
To View Exhibits
There are two possible ways to view an exhibit. To view a particular exhibit, select the exhibit number directly from the menu. A new browser window will appear. To bring this window to full screen, select the "small box" in the upper right hand corner of the browser window. To return to the listing by number, close the browser window by selecting the "X" in the upper right hand corner of the window.
When the list of exhibits is too long to be displayed, a small scroll will appear to the left of the list. To slide the arrow, click and hold your mouse on the arrow and move your mouse up and down as needed.
To view the list of exhibits by name, select “List of Exhibits.” The listing will appear in a new browser window. To view a particular exhibit, select the exhibit number next to the title. To bring this window to full screen, select the "small box" in the upper right hand corner of the browser window. To return to the listing by name, select the “Back” arrow.
Notes
In most cases, the entire exhibit can be viewed at full screen. However, the detail on a number of exhibits includes fonts which require the exhibit to be displayed too large to fit the screen. Vertical and horizontal slide bars will appear to navigate the exhibit when needed. Instead, the viewer may choose to display the exhibit in the pdf file, which will display all the exhibits for a particular analysis at full screen. Adobe Acrobat Reader needs to be installed on the users computer to view pdf files. To download a copy of adobe acrobat click on the logo below.
Narratives can be printed directly from the web page. To print exhibits, select the appropriate pdf file. You can print either the entire set of exhibits, or select particular exhibits of interest.
