CREW REUNION 2008 HOSPITALITY SUITE SPONSORSHIP

We are once again inviting sponsorship of our Hospitality Suite, for those Mates that would like to remember a Mate, or an event in their Jaycee life, or who cannot attend the Reunion personally, or who simply want to help sponsor the "hospitality" part of our 72nd Reunion. Sponsorships will be used to help defray the cost of the Hospitality Suite, and the food and drink served there. And like at the 71st Reunion, a list of the donors and their names will be published in the Reunion Program. At the last Reunion we had 6 sponsors, and I am shooting to double that number for San Diego, CA meeting. Checks should be mailed to the Ship’s Purser, Mate Dave Atkin at 1600 Elmore Ave; Columbus OH 43224 and made out to "The Crew" with a notation of CREW Hospitality on the bottom left hand side. So far we have gotten $350 thus far but could use more to cover the costs of the Hospitality Suite and food/drink. Thanks.

MATE HARRY called last week since he hadn't received a LOG for awhile, and when he learned that the Crew Reunion was going to be in San Diego, he said "If they have an airport, I'll be there". So I promptly put him on the program.

Mate Kim Newlin has learned that the US Jaycees September meeting is scheduled for San Diego, California. Therefore, and for a number of reasons that most of you know, we are changing our meeting dates from the Jaycees March meeting slot to their September meeting times in 2008. And if it works out favorably for THE CREW, we will continue to meet in September.

Most of you also know that "The Hall of Leadership" Awards Luncheon and the "TOYA Awards" ceremonies are held during the Jaycee September meeting, giving Shipmates attending our Reunion the opportunity to also attend one or both of those events. (12/11/07)

LEND A HAND TO A SHIPMATE

MATE HARDY SMITH (Daytona Beach, FL) Past President of the Alabama Jaycees, former NVP, and JCI Senator #35363, is requesting assistance with a nationwide survey he is conducting. The purpose of the survey is to collect responses from business and community leaders serving as board members of nonprofit organizations. (That's most, if not all, of THE CREW!)

The survey is by email, and is simple and quick. (I took the survey and it IS simple and quick)
