MATE JEFF DAVIS (Gainesville, GA) HAS BEEN APPOINTED HONORARY CHAIRMAN OF THE 70TH CREW REUNION, TO BE HELD AT THE SHERATON MYRTLE BEACH CONVENTION CENTER HOTEL, MARCH 10-14, 2006.

A Past Georgia State President, USJCC NVP (1959-60),JCI VP (1960- 61), and JCI Senator, MATE JEFF has been a member of THE CREW for 46 years. As part of THE CREW'S early days "Washington Mafia" (MATES GEORGE PAGONIS, PHIL KNOX, REED LARSON, CHUCK SHEARER, TOM DONNELLY,
RALPH ROHWEDER, JIM WESBERRY, FRANK MUELLER, CHRIS VAIL, DAVE HENDERSON, AND BOB LINDHOLM), the Wednesday Morning Fellowship Group that met for breakfast in downtown Washington, D. C. every Wednesday morning for nearly 20 years and directed THE CREW'S Annual Meetings, MATE JEFF also served as Chairman of the 49th Crew Reunion in Washington, D.C.; making him a member of THE CREW'S "Steerage Committee", the advisory group comprised of living Past Crew Reunion Chairmen.

His 49th Reunion featured other Shipmates, including the late MATE WARREN BURGER, Chief Justice of The Supreme Court, JCI Senator and Past Minnesota State President and USJCC NVP. He also worked on the election campaigns of another Crew Member and JCI Senator, the late MATE RICHARD NIXON, former President of the United States.

In spite of two recent strokes that have taken most of his eyesight and sense of direction, he writes in "History of The Crew 2004", "I'm still trying to pay my civic rent...as Volunteer Chairman for http://ww.georgiaheritagecoalition.org."
